Bank of Me: The Remote Working Edition

By Jane Sparrow, Chris Preston and Owen Cook.

Many congratulations to Jane Sparrow and her team on this timely new release. This practical book is all about the things that we need to do to ensure that you, and the people you manage, are remaining healthy, happy and focused when not working in a traditional office environment. It's aimed at people who want to work virtually, who are always on the road, who need a more flexible life and routine that isn't the traditional 9-5 approach. It's also for people who manage others that need this type of work environment. Clearly it's also relevant to so many of us right now as we work in a new way owing to Covid-19.

It won’t tell you how to set up a remote VPN, or give five tips for selling on the phone. What it will do is suggest things you and your team can do on a regular basis that will keep you connected, productive and focused. We know that virtual working can be a high-stress environment, one that people struggle to be effective in. The 60+ tips in this book will get you over that problem, and set you on a course of success.

It's stuffed full of resources and ideas that you can dip in and out of. They aren't all to try all at once, you won’t manage it, and that’s not the aim. Remote working isn’t always easy, and these are things to use when you need a boost or a way of focusing, remaining positive or pushing through a tough situation.
