Your personal information is protected by the UK GDPR and the Data Protection Act 2018, as amended by the Data Use and Access Act (DUAA) 2025. We’re allowed to use personal data only if we have a proper legal reason. This includes sharing data with others.

Who We Share Your Data With

We may share data with:

  • Data processors (e.g., Invenias, Umbraco, Mailchimp, SurveyMonkey)
  • Our associate consultants conducting interviews
  • Clients receiving applications and reference details (with your consent)
  • Research administrators collecting references
  • Legal authorities, if required
  • In a merger or acquisition scenario, with organisations that agree to protect your data

We may transfer data internationally. Where we do, we use approved safeguards like International Data Transfer Agreements (IDTAs) to ensure your data remains protected to UK standards. Data transfers to countries with an adequacy decision (like the EU) are also permitted under the UK GDPR.

Automated decision making

Under DUAA 2025, LSC Education confirm that no decisions are made using automated processing of special category data.

Marketing

We may contact you about events, services, vacancies, or research opportunities if:

  • Or, we have a legitimate interest that does not override your rights

To clarify, Legitimate Interest is used when working with a candidate on an initial and ongoing application, whereas Consent is used when a candidate has agreed that LSC Education can retain their contact details for future opportunities.

DUAA 2025 allows low-risk cookies (e.g. analytics) to be used without prior consent. We provide clear opt-out options.

How Long We Keep Your Information

We keep your data while you are an active client or candidate. After that:

  • Up to 6 years to respond to complaints or legal obligations
  • Longer if required for legal, statistical, or research purposes (with safeguards)

Your Rights

You have the right to:

  • Access your data (Data Subject Access Request - DSAR)
  • Correct inaccurate or incomplete data
  • Ask us to delete, restrict or stop using your data
  • Object to certain processing
  • Withdraw consent
  • Request data portability in a reusable format

Upon receiving a DSAR request, LSC Education will conduct a "reasonable and proportionate search" and if necessary "stop the clock" on the one-month response deadline if we need to verify the requester's identity or ask for clarification.

LSC Education will acknowledge complaints within 30 days of receipt and respond without undue delay.

It is a formal requirement under the DUAA 2025, to complete this internal process prior to escalating to the Information Commission (IC), formerly known as “Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO)”
