Ed Marsden

Ed has been in education for 22 years, originally as a Secondary teacher of Physical Education. Although now serving as a Prep school Head, Ed has leadership experience in the Independent and State sectors at both Secondary and Primary level, both in the UK and Internationally, Ed is also a governor advising specifically on recruitment and safeguarding. Ed was first introduced to ‘Gradin’ coaching at his current school which created a positive culture with staff, parents and pupils all receiving training. This, along with his experience as a Pastoral lead and DSL made Ed realise he was using coaching more and more in his day to day work, this has led him to following this passion and is looking to support other senior leaders and Heads. Ed has coached fellow headteachers, members of SLT, SENCO’s and teachers. Outside of education Ed has coached leaders in the corporate world. Ed is a member of the ICF (International Coaching Federation) and has a Professional (Level 7) Diploma in Coaching and Mentoring. He has coached individuals within the Education system and within the corporate world. Alongside his full role as a Head, he also runs ‘Head to Head coaching’ from his home on the Isle of Wight. Ed works with both IAPS (Independent Association of Prep School) and HMC (Headmasters conference) and forms part of their coaching solutions.
