St. Ignatius Catholic School is a private co-educational school with approximately 690 pupils ranging from Nursery to Advanced Level (Year 13). The School is recognised for its academic rigour, its excellent discipline and its caring and supportive Christian ethos. It follows the English National Curriculum to I/GCSE with many students progressing to our ALevel programme.
Established by the Jesuits over 50 years ago, St. Ignatius School is known throughout the Cayman Islands and beyond as one of the leading educational institutions in the community. The principal mission of the School is to build on the solid foundation of academic excellence in the service of Gospel values and the holistic formation and development of its students.
With over 690 students, its dedicated and qualified senior leadership team and faculty work diligently, in collaboration with parents/guardians, to ensure that each student achieves his/her highest potential in a safe, supportive, nurturing, and Christ-centered learning environment. To this end, the school’s curricula and intentional instruction are designed for its students to thrive and enhance their learning experience at St. Ignatius.
The School welcomes children of all nationality, ethnicity, creed, and circumstance. From preschool/nursery to Year 13, academic excellence, strong Christian values, and principles characterized by mutual respect, high morals, generosity, and service are promoted and are the hallmarks of St. Ignatius.
The students enjoy a wealth of activities and events relating to prayer and worship, drama, music, sports and community service, amongst others, to build their spiritual, intellectual, physical and emotional character alongside their academic pursuits.
The School’s goal is to help its students grow and mature into positive, responsible individuals, equipped with the tools necessary to be successful in the 21st century. In the words of the patron of the School, St. Ignatius of Loyola, their children are being formed throughout their educational journey at St. Ignatius to “Go forth and set the World on Fire” and make a positive impact in their community.
The Pastoral Administrator of the St Ignatius Catholic Church is seeking to appoint an inspiring and experienced Principal to lead the school from August 2022. The Principal is the chief administrator as well as the educational and spiritual leader in the Catholic school. As administrator, the Principal is responsible for all relevant aspects of the school as a Catholic institution including, but not limited to, administration, management, personnel, discipline, and community relations.
