Genesis College is a well-established private school in northern Bucharest with a legacy spanning over 25 years. Founded by President, Ioana Necula, Genesis College has been shaping education in Bucharest, starting as a small kindergarten and growing into one of the capital’s most forward-thinking all-through schools. The school has built a strong reputation for academic excellence, its international programs, and a nurturing environment that helps students thrive. The school holds dual accreditation from Romania’s Ministry of Education, from kindergarten to high school, as well as full authorisation from the International Baccalaureate (IB) Organisation. The school integrates the Romanian national curriculum with the IB’s international pedagogical model, encouraging critical thinking, adaptability, and holistic learning. The school’s academic structure includes a Kindergarten and Primary School offering the PYP, a Middle School offering the MYP and a Theoretical High School offering the DP and Romanian Baccalaureate. 

Currently with 480 students across all phases, a loyal and experienced leadership team, and a reputation as Romania’s first fully digital school, Genesis stands out as a pioneer in combining academic excellence with modern, flexible learning environments. In a major development in 2024, the school began relocating its full operations to a converted former office tower (the Petrom Tower) in northern Bucharest. This modernised nine-story campus offers cutting-edge facilities, including labs, indoor gardens, collaborative zones, cafeterias, and advanced environmental systems, across over 10,000 square metres. The upgrade enables the school to double its capacity from 500 to 1,000 students initially, with room to expand to 2,000 with future developments planned. The expansion and ambitious 10-year growth plan is supported by financial investment from Mozaik Investments, a private equity firm specialising in growth capital, marking a significant validation of Genesis’s success and vision.

Genesis is poised for a bold new chapter, strengthening its position as a top-tier educational brand, investing in infrastructure, technology and talent, building on its international curriculum, and further strengthening its strong community reputation. Its central location, close to key industries and entrepreneurial hubs, positions it differently from the cluster of international schools in Bucharest’s north. As the city’s longest-serving IB school, Genesis is expanding its innovative programmes, enhancing early years education, and growing its international faculty to meet rising demand. Future plans include unifying the campus, strengthening bilingual provision, and exploring a shift away from the national curriculum to fully embrace its global vision.
