Founded as the first British independent school in West Africa, Charterhouse Lagos opened its Primary School in September 2024 and has quickly established itself as one of the most ambitious educational developments in Africa. Drawing on more than 400 years of educational heritage from Charterhouse UK, the school combines the highest standards of British independent education with a strong commitment to innovation, character development, and academic excellence.

Located on a purpose-built campus in Ajah, on the Lekki Peninsula, Charterhouse Lagos provides a secure, self-contained learning environment within Nigeria’s economic capital. The campus benefits from 24-hour security and has been designed to offer students and staff an exceptional educational experience, supported by world-class facilities and extensive boarding provision for secondary students.

The campus features fully connected classrooms, specialist science and STEAM laboratories, music, art, drama and library facilities, an 800-seat professional-standard theatre, a 25-metre competition swimming pool and learn-to-swim pool, an NBA-standard indoor basketball arena, indoor and outdoor football facilities, and extensive landscaped grounds. These facilities support a holistic approach to education, enabling students to excel academically while developing their sporting, creative, and leadership talents.

Charterhouse Lagos offers a rigorous British curriculum for students aged 5 to 18. The Primary School currently serves Years 1 to 6, while the Secondary School opened in September 2025 for Years 7, 8 and 9, with weekly and full boarding options available. Year 10 (IGCSE) and Year 12 (A Level) programmes will commence in September 2026, with the school continuing to expand towards a full Years 1 to 13 provision.

As the school continues to grow, it offers a unique opportunity to be part of an exciting educational journey. Charterhouse Lagos is committed to developing young people who are intellectually curious, globally minded, and equipped with the knowledge, skills, and values required to thrive at the world’s leading universities and in an increasingly interconnected world.

We hope you will consider joining us as we continue to shape a new standard of educational excellence in Nigeria and across West Africa.
