Head of College

UWC Dilijan College
Dilijan, Armenia

United World College Dilijan has 220 IB diploma students of diverse social and cultural background from all over the world, admitted on merit, most on scholarships.

To start in August 2023, the Governors seek a successor to Gabriel Abad Fernandez after his five years of distinguished tenure. Founded in 2014, the college is by now well established and respected as an exemplar in the Caucasus and more widely. The ambition is for the college to become world leading based on the distinctiveness of its location and the educational experience it provides. The bringing together of people in this unique place fosters international understanding and attitudes of mutual respect and peace. The new Head of College, a person of intellectual distinction with proven leadership capability, will steer this liberal, highly collaborative, and vibrant residential community through the second decade of its evolution. The central pillar of the work is to nourish this community whilst shaping its growth. At the same time, the Head has an ambassadorial role needing to engage widely both within Armenia and internationally.

This post offers a creative opportunity for an imaginative educationalist who may have a background in schools, university research or elsewhere.

UWC Dilijan College is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. The successful candidate will be required to undergo relevant background checks.
