IPS Cascais British International School
Portugal

There is a homely, familial feel at IPS Cascais. Accredited by the Council of British International Schools (COBIS), ISP Cascais has an excellent reputation for integrating children from all over the world into the school community. The school currently has 350 students from ages 3 to 15. Catering to local and expatriate families - over 80% of its pupils come from countries outside Portugal - the school does its utmost to ensure an easy transition for students from international backgrounds. They teach in English, and the curriculum is based on the English National Curriculum. They have a small class policy with qualified, experienced, and enthusiastic teachers, plus a team of teaching assistants and learning support teachers.

IPS Cascais cares deeply about pupils’ personal and social development and has two purpose-built campuses with green spaces, specialist play equipment, and learning facilities. Children love to learn in their library, music room, gymnasium, and ICT suite, and they thrive on performances and on taking part in events held in the large, light atrium. As an eco-friendly school, on their journey to becoming an Eco-School, the classrooms have green roofs, planted with drought-resistant plants and grasses. Nursery to Year 4 has its own space with a garden, mini football pitch, pirate ship, adventure playground and “roads” for developing confidence on their tricycles.

Joining IPS Cascais now means leading its well-established, successful Primary school in a new chapter of expansion to become a full K-12 provider. 2023 will see the completion of their dedicated Secondary campus and help to realise their plans to expand their curriculum, which is currently based on the English National Curriculum in Primary. IPS Cascais will also offer a full programme of IGCSEs and the IB Diploma for Secondary. This is an exciting role for a current senior leader with a global mindset who is passionate about building relationships and will enjoy fostering solid links between the school, the community, and the wider Globeducate group in Portugal and internationally.

ISP Cascais is a proud member of Globeducate, one of the leading international K12 education groups in the world, a network of 55+ premium bilingual and international schools, as well as online programmes, educating 31,000 students in ten countries.

A Globeducate school creates opportunities to connect with students from its schools across the world to come together, in person or online, for sport, music, arts, academic challenges and to work with others to help build a more equal, fair and sustainable world.
