Chief Executive Officer

BSME is the largest dedicated network of British International Schools in the Middle East. It serves 150 Member Schools and more than 100 Business Partners. BSME runs the largest inter-school student events programme in the Middle East, as well as comprehensive Professional Learning opportunities for teachers, leaders and school administrators. Additional services, such as BSME’s Annual Conference for senior leaders and wider representation with educational and governmental organisations (within the Middle East and UK), are also an important part of the organisation’s function.

BSME offers a robust and varied professional learning calendar to support career progression pathways at all levels, as well as providing high-level sporting, academic and performing arts events for its students. Its Headship Induction Partner Programme provides new Principals and Heads with the support they need while they find their feet in the region. BSME supports the accreditation of member schools and lobbies regulatory bodies to the benefit of its schools. 

The BSME Executive Committee is appointed from serving Heads/Principals in BSME schools. The Executive Committee meets regularly to plan, monitor and evaluate the direction and progress of the organisation. Country Representatives are the local point of contact for BSME schools. Their support for schools includes school visits to establish suitability for membership, termly network meetings for Headteachers and guidance around local education policy and practice. The BSME Head Office is based in Dubai.

Reporting to the Executive Committee, the CEO is a highly self-motivated individual with relevant education leadership experience and a proven track record of managing and leading high performing teams.

At the direction of the BSME Executive Committee, the CEO oversees the fiscal, educational and operational areas as well as overall management of the organisation. The CEO works closely with the BSME Business Manager to create, implement and drive a relevant, coherent and dynamic organisational strategy which benefits members. The CEO is responsible for the successful creation, implementation and evaluation of new and existing services.
